Application forms and any further information required can be obtained from the Secretary at Association of Practicing Quantity Surveyors & Estimators, 36/1 , Anderson road, Kalubowila, Dehiwala, Sri Lanka.
Applications shall be made in writing, giving full details of qualifications and experience, signed by both the applicant and proposers. Documentary evidence of all qualifications claimed and examinations passed should be supplied. Statements regarding experience and employment shall be substantiated by letters from the applicant’s various employers. Photocopies will be accepted, but the onus of proof remains with the applicant.
Applicants who are 50 years of age or older and have been engaged in the practice or teaching of Quantity Surveying for not less than 20 years, and have spent a total of not less than six years in theoretical and practical training in Quantity Surveying, may apply for mature age entry. Prerequisites and a separate application are available.
The Association may reject any application for any class of membership which, in its opinion, is inappropriate to the applicant’s qualifications, or may alter and accept the application in the appropriate class.
Rejected applicants will be advised of the reason for rejection and shall have the right of appeal to a committee established by the Council for the purpose, which shall contain none of the persons on any previous committee or panel.
Parties to an appeal shall be responsible for any and all of their own costs involved in the appeal.
