Limitation of Membership

Membership of the Association shall be open to any person who is principally concerned with Quantity Surveying and/or Estimating, whether as a principal, employee, and full time lecturer in the field of Quantity Surveying and/or Estimating in a recognized University, Technical College or a Technical Training Institution.

Qualified Membership of the Association shall be open only to Practicing Quantity Surveyors and/or Estimators and not to persons who are qualified but not practicing as Quantity Surveyors and/or Estimators.

Membership of the Association shall be classified according to the grades of membership given hereafter, and no person shall be eligible for membership of the Association otherwise than in accordance with the following provisions, such provisions to be read as the minimum standard in each case.

In exceptional cases only, the regulations governing admission to any grade of membership may be overridden by particular and special consideration which, in the opinion of the Council, may warrant that an applicant be exempted from taking examinations of the Association, provided always that such consideration shall be limited to those which the Council may hold to be expressly or impliedly established by the Regulations for the time being of the said examinations.
